Industry Leading Practices
Direct and indirect impact from emissions can occur in and around an active port. These emissions from port operations include air, noise, dust, water and light. Our Port has a boundary air quality monitoring plan, designed to characterise air quality in the environment surrounding the Port in order to determine the potential exposure of sensitive receptors to dust and air contaminant emissions that could be attributed to operations. You can view live air quality data at the Queensland Department of Environment and Science website.
We will be a showcase of industry-leading best practices by:
- Driving environmental management excellence
- Minimising emissions and creating positive outcomes
Our Environmental Management System (EMS) is an important tool that assists the Port to monitor and continuously improve its environmental performance and ensure compliance with legislative requirements. Our EMS is currently certified to International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 14001:2015. You can read about our environmental management and monitoring activities on our Port website.
